We were delighted to welcome 36 attendees to Tilling, Tea and Cake on a bright, sunny morning. Our excellent speaker, Martin Blincow, delivered a fascinating talk on the rich history of Rye Cricket Club, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Our October Winchelsea, Tea and Cake was another well-attended and enjoyable morning, filled with friendly conversation, useful information, and delicious home-baked treats.
Our latest Tilling Tea and Cake was, as always, a pleasure — a warm and friendly morning filled with conversation, laughter, and the familiar faces of our wonderful regulars and supporters. It’s lovely to see how this monthly gathering continues to bring our community together over delicious tea, cakes, and plenty of laughter.
Rye Players have approached us as the machinery of panto is revving up! Their words - not ours!. This year, they are going all-singing and all-dancing with a brand new fun-packed panto - Crazy Christmas at the Haunted Hotel by Paul Johnson, directed by Xan Kite.
Chris was the lunch break guest of Sarah Gorrell on Radio Sussex. He talks about his inspiration that encouraged him to set up FAiR in 2023.
Our monthly Winchelsea Tea and Cake event, held on the last Wednesday of September, brought together 36 people for another successful morning filled with friendship, learning, and support.
Our September Tilling, Tea and Cake was once again filled with good company, information, plenty of conversation, and of course, delicious cakes. It was wonderful to see both familiar faces and newcomers enjoying the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that these monthly gatherings are all about.
This month’s Winchelsea Tea and Cake gathering was another inspiring and sociable few hours, with 35 people joining us for tea, coffee, delicious locally baked cakes, and some really valuable talks. We were delighted to welcome Sandi and Liz, First Responders, who gave a practical and reassuring demonstration on how to deal with choking in a child. Their clear guidance was a real confidence booster, showing how quick actions can make all the difference in an emergency.
Saturday August 16th at Tilling, Tea and Cake was another hugely successful ‘informative and social’ event. 45 people attended to listen to a return visit of The Rye Racketeers raise the roof again! Clapping, singing, foot tapping and laughter were order of the day. we are extremely grateful to them.
Since our launch on January 13th 2025, our monthly Cancer Cafe held on the 2nd Monday of each month at the Hub on Rye Hill, has become a trusted safe space for attendees waiting for a diagnosis, during treatment and post diagnosis. It's a space we often find is full of laughter. We also provide support for family and friends.
Jan Crook, FAiR’s community co-ordinator, says the charity wants to be more inclusive. “There are a lot of struggling families locally who need help and advice when it comes to getting access to social services and the healthcare system. We need people to come forward and let us know how we can help. We really do want to be FAiR for all.”
FAiR is now a member of the Hastings and Rother Cancer Support Group, following the success of our monthly Cancer Cafe. 
Saturday’s(19th) forecast was threatening heavy rain, but that did not stop 25 people from across East Sussex braving the elements to hear about a haunted inn in Rye and Captain Jack and the Marine Cadets.
