We decided to enjoy a purely social event – no invited speakers. 30 people including volunteers attended and enjoyed a couple of hours of conversation, catching up, enjoying locally baked cakes and savouries with fresh Tea and Coffee.

Jan – Befriending Coordinator spoke about our weekly ‘Companionship Calls’ – the pleasure they bring to both the Befriendee and and volunteer Befriender. She explained how the calls are made through a secure platform, so no ones personal number is divulged.
Finally, she put out a request for us to be advised of anyone who would appreciate and/or who would like to be a volunteer Befriender.
if this is you, please call: 01797 458832 / [email protected]

Finally, we now have a registered Therapy Dog – Ted and are looking to develop outreach visits for PAT therapy.

If you know someone, a care home, hospital, event, who would like to receive a visit, please contact us – details as above.
Finally, CEO Chris, spoke about the successful launch of Winchelsea, Tea and Cake
at the Winchelsea Beach Community Hall – and the future speakers at Tilling and Winchelsea.

He thanked the volunteers and everyone for attending and went to have a lie down in the corner. Age has it’s advantages!
and finally, finally, our wonderful volunteers – Penny and Julie from A Touch of Gentleness
provided 20 min soothing hand massages. Bliss for the recipients.

Our next Winchelsea, Tea and Cake is on Wed May 28th and Tilling is: June 21st – both 10-12pm.
