Our 3rd Cancer Cafe gathering was warmly appreciated by our attendees. The idea is simple, to provide a private space where our guests receive advice and peers support, knowing the conversations stay in the room.
Also, each attendee has the opportunity for a free 20 min hand massage provided by the professional volunteers of A Touch of Gentleness. We thank them.
Christine McNamara of Gracious Care provided information of the importance of a Power of Attorney (POA) but also to have a separate list of any requirements an individual may have after they have died.
Examples given:
Music at the funeral / maybe a wish to wear specific clothing / one lady mentioned she wanted her nails painted bright red – any wish one has but ensuring it is a separate list attached to the POA.
