A Very Hot Winchelsea, Tea and Cake!
On one of the hottest days of the year, so far, we were surprised at the high turn. Never the less, we received many kind words of feedback especially about our speaker – local Author ‘Miriam McGuirk.
The subject of Miriam’s talk ‘The bench that saved my life’. She told the story of how 30 years ago, shortly after marrying her current husband, Chris, she was diagnosed with a long term illness.
You can listen to her talk here:
One of the wonderful volunteers from A Touch of Gentleness, Julie provided soothing hand massages for 2 hours, putting a smile on many people’s faces and soothing their hands and minds.
Volunteers Miriam and Charlotte provided refreshments and ensured all of the attendees enjoyed the savouries and cakes provided by the Cornish Bakery in Rye. Any leftovers are always shared out, cake bags provided for taking home.
Our next Winchelsea, Tea and Cake is July 29th – 10-12pm.
