Our 2nd Birthday – Thank you for your wonderful support.

Today – June 5th – we celebrate our 2nd birthday since FAiR was registered with the Charity Commission to provide a variety of Befriending services for all ages.

In October 2023, we received initial funding which has allowed us to deliver:
Two Monthly ‘Informative & Social Events’ – Tilling, Tea and Cake and Winchelsea, Tea and Cake, a monthly Cancer Cafe providing ‘Peer Support and Guidance’ for people with a Cancer diagnosis, Carers, loved ones, friends and anyone affected by Cancer and ‘Weekly Companionship Calls’.

PAT Therapy with Ted – a new service we are currently promoting and booking visits.

At the planning stage are:
Increasing ‘Weekly Companionship Calls’, Weekly ‘Face to Face’ visits by trained volunteers / a Battle, Tea and Cake / A Cancer Cafe in the Battle area.

To achieve this, we are hugely grateful to our funders who continue to recognise our work and provide funding:
In October 23, RVA kicked started our funding pot by helping us receive a ‘Making it Happen Grant’, and other soon followed:
Through the Wardrobe / Rye / Rotary Club / Ferry Road Surgery / The Chalk Cliff Trust (twice) Sussex Community Foundation – Cheyne Wind Farm (Twice) / The Lottery Community Fund – Awards for All / Benefact Group / Westfield Christmas Lights / Elm Tree Boot Sale Charity (twice) / The Cricketers – Rye / and of course our attendees who fill our donation jars at our monthly events.
To: Kate at Haydens in Rye who has provided freshly baked cakes and savouries since the launch of Tilling, Tea and Cake, and to The Cornish Bakery and to Jempsons of Rye.
To a wide variety of representatives from Health & Wellness services who speak to our attendees on a regular basis, which is proving beneficial  – according to feedback.

And finally:

to our attendees – new and regular who come from Tilling Green, around Rye, Peasemarsh, Camber, Brede, Icklesham, Catsfield, Battle, Bexhill, Hasting, St Leonards, Pett, Fairlight, Winchelsa beach,  – we thank you for putting trust in us, knowing we are happy to help you in addition to to seeing you at our events.

So, fingers crossed, funding continues to be received, we will ensure we continue to focus on ‘inclusion for all ages’, to help reduce ‘Loneliness and Isolation’ and develop Friendship, Fellowship and Fun in the Rother District of East Sus
