Tilling, Tea and Cake – A Sad Farewell (from 21st February)
We’re writing to let you know that Tilling, Tea and Cake has now come to an end, as of 21st February. This wasn’t an easy decision, but after looking closely at a few important issues — including health and safety, access concerns for older visitors and mobility-scooter users, hot drinks being carried through a tight spaces and monthly cost for 3 rooms— we realised the venue was no longer cost effective for what we hoped to achieve.
We also found that the event wasn’t consistently reaching the people in Valley Park and Tilling Green who we especially wanted to support.
However, we were extremely grateful for the opportunity to support guests, mostly who came by car, from across Rother district eg: Bexhill, St Leonards, Hastings, Ore, Pett Level, Fairlight, Winchelsea Beach, Brede, Wittersham, and beyond — thank you. Your warmth and enthusiasm made every gathering special.
We hope you will join us at our other events – 2 of which are new – details below.
To everyone who came along, chatted, laughed, shared cake, made generous donations and to our fantastic volunteers – WE THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
However, we have some very good news below and if YOU would like to volunteer at any of these events, please contact: [email protected] / 07386 853349
