Community Spirit at it’s Best.
Our recent Rye Harbour Tea & Cake morning was well attended, with a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout. It was lovely to see so many people including new faces from other towns, coming together to enjoy good company, conversation and, of course, plenty of delicious cakes and refreshments.
Guest Speakers
We were delighted to welcome two organisations:
- Francesca, (and Volunteer Miriam)

- from Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital, shared exciting plans to bring together the five pillars—Health, Care, Community, Support, and Inclusivity—under one dedicated website and social media platform. She invited feedback from attendees, which sparked thoughtful discussion and interest.
- Mark and David

- from Citizens Advice 1066 (CAB1066) took a friendly approach, moving around each table to chat with attendees in small groups and individually. He shared helpful information about their services and answered questions, ensuring everyone had the chance to engage.
Both Francesca and David were well received and added real value to the morning.
Wellbeing and Support
A special Thank you to Jo and Izzy for providing soothing hand massages.
,
Behind the scenes, our fantastic volunteers Charlotte (Trustee), and SJ

kept everything running smoothly in the kitchen. There was plenty of laughter along the way, and they made sure everyone was well looked after with hot drinks, cakes, and savoury treats.
Each attendee also left with a much-loved ‘Cake Bag’, a small gesture that always goes down well!
Looking Ahead
It truly was a great morning, full of connection, support, and community spirit.
