A memorable Christmas celebration at Tilling, Tea and Cake
The wind blew and the rain came down, but this did not stop 38 attendees from taking part in our Christmas Celebration. Photos
‘Meeter and Greeter’ Miriam, welcomed and encouraged everyone to taste a delicious fare of cakes and savouries provided by our generous local Rye businesses, Kate at Haydens, The Cornish Bakery and Jempsons. A great big Thank you for your ongoing support.
Jan and Luke aka two ‘Elfs came down from the Shelf’ to mix and mingle and create a wonderful fun atmosphere. We cannot forget our beautiful friendly therapy dog, Ted’ who has become an important part of our team.
Our two rooms decorated in true festive style by 2 volunteers, Louisa and Amy. We thank them and appreciate their immense creativity and their time.
The voice of an angel, Yasmien Huband sang festive songs throughout the event. (link to FB).
Feet were tapping and many joined in singing along to these well known tunes.
Local Author – Miriam McGuirk read ‘A Christmas Miracle’. A story written about a puppy she rescued and gave a home to, when she lived in small village in the mountains of Turkey.
The story, written and shared through the dog’s eyes of his rescue, (His new family named him Gino). I am pleased to report he remains healthy and happy. An emotional and poignant tale along with humour, still brought a tear or two.
The Raffle Prizes’ draw 35 of them. (each one wrapped by Miriam), and generously provided by local businesses from in and around Rye.

Huge thanks and appreciation to everyone who generously bought raffle tickets. We raised at total of £347.
Our monthly event will continue on the 3rd Saturday of each month, our first of 2025, January 18th.
