FAiR’s Celebration Lunch Time Social

Thursday November 7th – ‘Celebration Lunch Time Social’ – to celebrate to say thank you to our wonderful Befriending Coordinator Katherine Crowther, volunteers and supporters of whom there are many.

Some you may recognise in the photos including our Louisa Simmons who waved her magic🧚‍♀️ every where and our local MP – Helena Dollimore who helped CEO Chris – cut the cake (and it was delicious)
A huge thank you (again) to Sharon (from Hazel Lodge) for the beautiful ‘appropriately’ decorated cake.
12 months ago October 2023, we received initial funding which allowed us to develop ‘Tilling, Tea and Cake’.
A monthly 2hr ‘drop in’ Saturday Social which also provides advice and peer support from a wide variety of Health & Wellness professionals including our (Trustee) GP – Dr Sarah Jacques of Sussex Outreach Support (SOS) and the wonderful volunteers from https://www.atouchofgentleness.org/ who provide hand massages.
A special thank you to Kate@ Haydens in Rye who provides cakes and savouries every month and to Jempsons and the Cornish Bakery for their support when we ask for it.
At our next ‘Tilling, Tea and Cake’Nov 16th, we will welcome our 500th attendee. 🎉👏👏👍
September 2024 saw us launch Befriending ‘Companionship Calls’ providing the opportunity for recipients to receive a weekly call. Training is underway for volunteers.
January 13th – 2025 we launch our Cancer Cafe in collaboration with the Hub on Rye Hill supported by Rural Rother PCN.
I will finish with my personal thanks – to everyone who supports, funds, engages with us and attends our events.
Without you – FAiR would not exist. Thank you.
